For one night only, T13, former shipbuilding warehouse turn skate park , will be transformed into a Post-apocalyptic, wasteland for Miller’s futuristic science fiction fantasy
Set in a strange post-industrial future where oil reserves are exhausted and violence rules the world, a cynical drifter armed with his super-charged V8 Interceptor (and faithful dog), agrees to help a small, fuel rich, community beleaguered by hordes of biker barbarians.
Miller’s follow-up to his own 1979 hit Mad Max is proof that not all sequels are inferior to their originals and to this day remains the pinnacle of post-apocalyptic cinema.
Doors for the event open at 7:30pm. Film starts at 8.00pm. There will be a 25 min interval for drinks (bar facilities will be available at the venue). Studded leather and bondage outfits optional!
Screened as part of the BFI Sci-Fi season Days of Fear and Wonder.
"An honest-to-goodness movie-movie of such breathtaking velocity that it would spin hopelessly out of control if it did not have a charismatic hero at its core"Andrew Sarris, The Village Voice
"Never has a film's vision of the post-nuclear-holocaust world seemed quite so desolate or so brutal, or so action-packed and sometimes funny as in ... [this] extravagant film fantasy, which looks like a sadomasochistic comic book come to life"Vincent Canby, The New York Times
