An army of 1000 fans joined Belfast Film Festival on our opening night, for the action packed premiere of Game of Thrones Episode 1 Season 4 last night at the Moviehouse, Dublin Road. There was great craic amongst the crowds heading into the screening, inevitably a ‘see how many people you can cram into a selfie’ moment was called for.
7000 people applied to the online lottery within hours of the announcement of the special preview screening. The excitement was tangible as lucky ticket winners arrived for the long awaited episode. Local talent features highly, both behind and in front of screen in the HBO hit series, and fans were delighted when they were joined by local Game of Thrones actor Ian McElhinney. We caught up with Ian, or should I say Ser Barristan Selmy, guardian of Daenerys Targaryen, to ask some pressing questions before he went into the screening.
