Culture Minister, Carál Ní Chuilín and Lord Mayor Máirtín Ó Muilleoir joined a star studded gathering of musical, stage and screen talent last night at Belfast’s Waterfront Hall.

The concert celebrated the music of Patrick Doyle in the films of Kenneth Branagh. Actors Fiona Shaw and Michael Maloney performed scenes from Shakespeare’s ‘Much Ado about Nothing’ and ‘Hamlet’.

Veronica Morris from the Ulster Orchestra said: “The only words to describe tonight’s concert are ‘incredibly beautiful’. I even got teary at the Shakespeare recitals by Fiona Shaw and Michael Maloney and the Violin Romance was just stunning. Patrick Doyle himself said it was the best it’s ever been performed.”
