Sebastián Lelio (A Fantastic Woman) directs Julianne Moore in this remake of his 2013 film about a free-spirited, middle-aged divorcee hoping to find love on the dance floor.

Gloria is a divorcée who spends her days at a straight- laced office job and her nights on the dance floor, joyfully letting loose at clubs around Los Angeles. After meeting Arnold (John Turturro) on a night out, she finds herself thrust into an unexpected new romance, filled with both the joys of budding love and the complications of dating, identity and family.

Reviews

Gloria Bell pairs perhaps the best portrayer of troubled or lost women with a director who has built a career building stories around them, and the result is a film that comfortably banishes any fears of some neutered US remake.
The glorious Julianne Moore is the best reason to see this American adaptation of Sebastián Lelio’s Chilean film.
