On Saturday the 31st of March at the Waterfront Hall the Ulster Orchestra will be performing music composed by Patrick Doyle from the Films of Kenneth Branagh.

Patrick Doyle and Kenneth Branagh formed a creative partnership that to date has spanned 25 years. It has seen the conception of soundtracks to films ranging from Frankenstein to Shakespeare, Thor to Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, as well as Dead Again and Sleuth.

Hosted by the BBC, the showcase will exhibit the magic of cinematic sound performed live by the Ulster Orchestra, with Shakespeare’s plays brought to life by short readings from the Bard and choral accompaniment from the Belfast Philharmonic Choir.

In attendance will be Patrick Doyle himself, fellow composer James Shearman, and Hamlet actors Michael Maloney and Fiona Shaw, who will be performing the words of Shakespeare.

A pre-concert talk with Patrick Doyle will take place in
The Waterfront at 6:45pm. The event is being run by Belfast Film Festival in partnership with Belfast Waterfront Hall.
