We were absolutely delighted and honoured to present the Réalta Award to the remarkable Stephen Rea, recognising his outstanding career and lasting impact on Irish film, theatre and television.
The award was presented by Stephen’s lifelong friend, renowned composer and musician Neil Martin, making the occasion all the more special. In conversation with Shona McCarthy, Arts Council Ireland’s new Director, Stephen reflected on his remarkable journey, sharing insights into his career, creative collaborations and contribution to the arts.
With Stephen heading to Paris next week to perform in Samuel Beckett’s Krapp’s Last Tape, it was a privilege to celebrate his remarkable achievements and hear more about a career that continues to inspire audiences on stage and screen.
