Piercings, sailor suits and groundhog onesies – Belfast fasionistas where out in force at the City Hall on Saturday for our tribute to Harold Ramis.

The rain stayed away as film’s most cynical weatherman and not the god but a god, Phil Connors, took to City Hall’s Big Screen to relive the worst, and eventually the best day of his life. The crowd that gathered at City Hall for this aptly sited film about bureaucracy, weather and reincarnation, were a great bunch. Some donned groundhog onsesies, others brought both umbrellas and picnic mats, then there were those who saw the commotion and joined in.

This was not the groundhog day Phil Connor’s forecast “A thousand people freezing their butts off waiting to worship a rat”. Yes a rat was worshiped, but on this day the sun peeped through, and I think I can speak for everyone when I say that we’d do it all again, and again and again…
