The Black Box was transformed into an intimate performance space for The Ulster String Quartet’s ‘Film Music Journey’.
Tim Burden hosted this live music event that saw a chronological journey through the history of film with excerpts from Hollywood’s Golden Age classics to modern greats like The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter.
Highlights included Somewhere Over the Rainbow, The Adventures of Robin Hood, Rebekah McCann-Williams accompanying the quartet on The Good, The Bad and the Ugly, and Colin Stark’s beautiful rendition of Gabriel’s Oboe from The Mission.
At the Queen’s Film Theatre, the family of leading actor Colin Morgan joined audiences and the creative team at a packed out screening of Waiting for You, including director and co-writer Charles Garrard, co-writer Hugh Stoddart and producer Simon Bosanquet.
Film writer and historian Robert J E Simpson was on hand for a Q&A session with Charles Garrad about his lyrical mystery drama starring Colin Morgan and Fanny Ardent.
