Last night Coffin played live to a packed auditorium of fans of David Lynch’s 1977 debut feature, Eraserhead at the MAC.

Eraserhead is already a surrealist nightmare with a fitting post-apocolyptic soundscape, but last night this beautiful and strange film was scored live by French band Coffin’s hypnotic electronic music. While we basked in the black and white glory of Eraserhead, Coffin serenaded us with drone synthesisers, ambient sound waves and labyrinthic pop noises, that gave us all the uncanny feeling of being in the belly of a dripping, semi-conscious industrial creature. It was awesome!

“I bought 4 tix for my son and his pals for his 17th birthday…It was a brill atmosphere in the Mac and they loved the band. None of them had seen the film before and it totally blew their minds– they analysed the film for the whole drive home (without reaching any conclusion). Great for these young guys to see ground breaking cinema on the big screen.” Audience Feedback
